Overview
The course by research on Doctor of Philosophy in Science (Environment) will expand student’s knowledge based in addressing environmental issues. Scientific research and analysis examining the natural sciences and environmental science will contribute to the sustainable development at the national and international level.
The objectives of the programme are to:
- provide advance knowledge and skills in environmental science in line with industrial needs
- produce students that able to lead independent research and develop new protocols, procedures and products
- produce students that are highly responsible and accountable in the execution of research
- develop effective communication and highly innovative and creative problem solving skills
- provide students with an educational experience that motivates them to pursue life-long learning
- equip students with professional attitudes, good ethics and leadership qualities and can provide professional advice in the development of national guidelines and policy related to environment
- produce students that keep abreast of current issues and technological advancement in of environmental sciences, taking into account relevant economic, ethical, social and legal aspects
Outcomes
At the end of this programme students should be able to:
- provide expert knowledge and significant contributions for the advancement of environmental science
- analyze and evaluate information from variety of sources
- participate in the development of national and global guidelines and policies related to environment
- apply a range of specialized skills, techniques, practices and tools in the development of new protocols, procedures and products
- demonstrate the ability to adapt, innovate and seek solutions to address challenges and concerns in of environmental science
- demonstrate leadership qualities and contribute to research, publications and consultancies for industries
- demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- uphold and encourage life-long learning to meet global challenges
- demonstrate an understanding and awareness of basic economics, ethical, legal and social issues related to of environmental science
- integrate environmental science, management and entrepreneurship for the advancement of the society
Minimum Entry Requirement
A Master of Science from UNISEL or any other IHL or any other equivalent qualification recognized by the University’s Senate.
