Overview
The main objective of the Post Graduate programme is to provide the opportunity for practicing engineer in the industry to upgrade and expand their skills in solving problems and decision making especially in new situation and multi-disciplinary context. Graduates will be able to apply the knowledge that they have gained from their research works, to a variety of applications in the industry. Faculty of Engineering offers major fields of studies ; Mechanical, Civil, Electronic, Electrical and Mechatronic Engineering with the specialization in Structural Health Monitoring, Automotive, Design, Control Engineering, Computational Mechanics, Nano Materials Engineering, Power Electrical and Energy Generation & Management.
The objectives of the programme are to:
- To produce graduates that able to apply knowledge in a specific discipline in engineering and technology.
- To produce competent graduate in carrying out research with utilization of analytical and problem solving skills in order to evaluate and make decisions critically and creatively based on research evidence and/or experience.
- To produce graduate that possess excellent generic skill such as attitudes, ethics, sense of professionalism and leadership skills for societal advancement within the framework of the national vision.
- To produce graduates with enhancement of the quest for knowledge and lifelong learning skills.
Outcomes
At the end of this programme students should be able to:
- Demonstrate mastery of knowledge in a specific discipline in engineering and technology.
- Generates solutions to problems using scientific and critical thinking skills.
- Relate ideas to societal issues in the relevant field.
- Conduct research with minimal supervision and adhere to legal, ethical and professional codes of practice.
- Apply practical skills in the relevant field.
- Demonstrate leadership qualities through communicating and working effectively with peers and stakeholders.
- Manage information for lifelong learning.
- Initiate and lead entrepreneurial ventures and projects.
Career Prospects
- Graduates with PhD in Engineering degree can find employment in government and private sectors. Usually the graduates involves more in research area either in industries or academic sector in which their discipline fall of.
Minimum Entry Requirement
A Master Degree in Engineering from UNISEL or any other IHL or any any other equivalent in relevant discipline recognized by the University’s Senate.

Full Time : 2 – 6 Years
Part Time : 4 – 8 Years
