A virtual postgraduate induction for new postgraduate research students was held on Monday 12 July 2021. An induction session to assist newcomers to start their study smoothly amidst the ongoing C0VID-19 pandemic. During the afternoon induction the students got some ideas getting to know the management of the Centre for Graduate Studies (CGS) and to start their postgraduate journey. It was officiated thus given welcoming speech by Assoc.Prof. Dr. Setyawan Widyarto, the Dean of Centre for Graduate Studies (CGS). Road to Graduate on Time (GoT) was exposed by Prof. Madya Dr. Salina binti Muhamad. Prof. Madya Dr. Gunasegaran Karuppannan presented the roles of student union (Unisel Postgraduate Student Assosciation – UPSAS). Senior Assistant Registrar, Sis. Qiesty Zarina binti Ghazali, explained the administration process that must be made by the students along with their academic journey. The other CGS staff i.e. Sis. Noor Azlinah binti Abu, Bro. Mohd Izwan bin Adnan and Bro. Mohd Zaman Bin Mohd Akhir were also introduced during the session.
The first day of induction were followed by series of Research Methodology Course (RMC) that was held from Tuesday 13 July 2021.Each topic was trained by one expert from various faculties and also guest speaker from out of Unisel, Prof. Dra. Sri Hartati, M.Sc., Ph.D from the University of Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta, Indonesia. At the end of the RMC, the students need to present their proposal that have been submitted when they applied the programme. The presentation did not replace the Proposal Defense but the students should apply the knowledge got during the RMC and update their proposal. Each student is scheduled 15 minutes for presentation and chances for questions and answer. They also need to submit presentation files that comply with the format given. No matter the circumstances, the Centre for Graduate Studies always provide endless support and guidance, regardless of the research topic or subject matters.
