Dr Norazah binti Mohammad Nawawi was appointed as a lecturer at Universiti Selangor since 2004 and has taught various subjects and supervised many students. In research she has been coordinating and maintaining microbial culture collections in Institute Bio-IT Selangor since the date of its establishment. Among various microbial cultures in Institute Bio-IT collection, Rhodococcus spp. has been recognized as a potential strain for numerous applications including bioremediation, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. As a microbiologist, she is investigating the capacity of both whole and immobilized Rhodococcus sp. cells on phenol biodegradation. Beside Rhodococcus, she currently involve in a project to investigate the potential of locally isolated microalgae for natural products. In regards to her research, Dr Norazah had also attended scientific training in University of Cambridge and University of Manchester in 2008 and 2012 respectively. She has also acquired knowledge from seminar and workshop in national and international level and published her research findings in journals, proceedings and book. Dr Norazah also actively involved in community services especially in promoting the important of science, technology, engineering and mathematics to community as the secretary for National STEM Association.
