Dr Moohamad Ropaning Sulong obtained his bachelor degree (Microbiology) in 1995 from Faculty of Science, Al Azhar University, Cairo, Egypt. He started his currier as Arabic Language Teacher at Sekolah Menengah Agama Darussaadah, Titi Besi, Alor Setar, Kedah, Darul Aman from 1997 to 2002. In 2003 he continued his postgraduate studies at Faculty of Biotechnology and Biomolecular Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia and graduated in 2005 with MSc in Microbial Biotechnology. He joined Universiti Selangor (Unisel) in 2005 as Lecturer at Faculty of Biotechnology and Life Sciences. In 2008 he pursued his PhD at Institute of Bioscience, Universiti Putra Malaysia and graduated with PhD in Enzyme Technology in 2015. Now he is a senior lecturer at Department of Science and Biotechnology at Faculty of Engineering and Life Sciences, Unisel. In 2017, he was appointed as Deputy Dean Academic at Centre for Postgraduate Studies (CGS) at the same time, he also being appointed as the Director of Institut Halal Antarabangsa Unisel (INSHA).
In February 2020, he was appointed as a deputy director of Centre for Research and Industrial Linkages (CRIL) and has been promoted to the director of Centre for Research and Industrial Linkages (CRIL) since September 2020.
Dr Moohamad Ropaning Sulong, participated in many halal conferences as the invited speakers. He has been joining as the invited speaker in the World Halal Summit since 2017 till now. He also as a moderator in many occasions locally and internationally including International Halal Conference (IHC2019) at Osaka University, Japan, 22-24 April 2019 and Seminar on Halalan and Thayyiban Product and Services (SAPPHAT 2019), Brunei Halal Showcase (BruHAS).
