Kamisah Binti Supian has been active in research, and her on-going research activities are in the area of management, tourism, economics, and halal perspectives. Her work has been published in books as well as local and international journals. She has been appointed as Journal reviewer in Selangor Business Review Journal and Journal of Business and Social Development.

Over the past 24 years, she has taught more than 20 different undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Student supervision is another active area that she is involved in. Currently, she is supervising 18 active students including 12 PhD students and 4 Master of Management (MoM) students. Two of her PhD students had graduated. One of her PhD and one of her Master’s degree students done their VIVA-VOCE early of this year. The background of her student supervision is from different countries, including Malaysian, Oman, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Nigeria.

She is currently working on three (3) FRGS 01/2020 projects, two (2) projects from Selangor State grant, one (1) project from Community Grant for PJ Sustainability and just completed 4 projects which one from Selangor State Grant and three university grants. At International level, she as one of the team members was working on an international grant from Sasakawa Peace Foundation on strengthening the Malaysia-Thailand Relationship specifically on halal matters in South Thailand. She was a consultant for the Well Being LS (International) Sdn. Bhd on Business Plan of Probiotic Doughnut Outlet in Malaysia in 2013. She continues to work with appropriate individuals to seek funding for future projects.

She is currently a Deputy Director at International Halal Institute, UNISEL. She was a Deputy Dean Research and Postgraduate of Faculty of Business and Accountancy, UNISEL end in August 2020. Prior to that, she was a Head of Programme for the postgraduate, coordinator of postgraduate and head of programme for Diploma in Sports Industry Management at Faculty of Business and Accountancy, UNISEL. Her administrative position enabled to develop and apply her leadership and critical thinking skills. As a member of the Faculty of Business and Accountancy, she has served the university in many different capacities such as a program chair, coordinator, task force member, mentor, evaluator, and committee member.
